About Hop Testing
Hop tests are functional assessments used to evaluate lower limb power, confidence, and readiness for sport. The four standard hop tests are:
- Single Hop for Distance: Jump as far as possible on one leg, land on same leg
- Triple Hop: Three consecutive hops, measuring total distance
- Crossover Hop: Three hops crossing over a line, measuring total distance
- 6-Meter Timed Hop: Hop 6 meters as fast as possible, measuring time
LSI Target: ≥90% on all hop tests is typically required for return-to-sport clearance.
